Need to update your phone system for holidays, weather closures, or special announcements? This guide shows you how to manage seasonal greetings through the ConnectUC portal.

Accessing Your Greetings

  1. Log in to your ConnectUC portal
  2. Navigate to the Auto Attendant section
  3. Select the greeting or menu option you want to update

Listening to Your Current Greeting

To hear what callers currently hear when they call:

  1. Open the Auto Attendant in the portal
  2. Click on the greeting you want to preview
  3. Use the playback controls to listen

Tip: You can also call your own main number from another phone to hear exactly what customers experience.

Updating Your Greeting

You have two options for recording a new greeting:

Option 1: Record via Phone

  1. Select the greeting in the portal
  2. Choose "Record via Phone"
  3. Enter the extension or phone number to call
  4. Answer the call and record your message

Option 2: Upload an Audio File

  1. Select the greeting in the portal
  2. Choose "Upload File"
  3. Select a .wav or .mp3 file from your computer
  4. Save your changes

Common Seasonal Updates

  • Holiday Closures: Update your main greeting with holiday hours and dates closed
  • Snow/Weather Emergencies: If you have a dedicated menu option for weather updates, update that specific nested greeting
  • Summer Hours: Adjust your hours announcement for seasonal schedule changes

Important Notes

  • Remember to update your greeting back to normal after the holiday or event passes
  • If old recordings appear unexpectedly, check if a scheduled greeting or time-based rule is active
